Victoria Bowling Club successfully capture BHBR Superdome Series

The winners of each of the four sections of the regular rounds of the BHBR Superdome Series 2025 met on Wednesday September 10 to decide the ultimate champion.

Sebastopol took on Midlands Blue in one semi-final, while our team of Dean Goodwin, David Leeson, Michael Curtis and Jarrod Burt competed against Bungaree in the other.

In a comprehensive first set, the Big V ran away to a big win (13-0). The second set didn’t go our way with just one end win and the game was tied up (4-12). Given the mat after the coin toss, our front end of Dean and David set up the decider perfectly and got the shot required to move through to the grand final.

After defeating Sebastopol in the other semi-final, Midlands Blue started strongly, leading 4-1 after 4 ends. However, with consistent close bowls from Dean and David, it was clear that the tide would turn the way of Victoria. Picking up 5 shots in the last 2 ends, the Vics captured the first set (6-4).

Again, the second set was very tight, with terrific bowls being played by both sides. It was proving impossible for either side to score a big pick up with so many close bowls in the head. In the end, the sheer weight of Victoria bowls in the head helped them to get over Midlands and bring home more success for Victoria Bowling Club.

We congratulate not only Dean, David, Michael and Jarrod for their victory, but also Murray Gannon and Barry Nunn who also competed in the white and blue across the 5 Wednesdays and contributed to the successful campaign.
