Big V juniors star in Gold Diggers win over Bendigo Dragons

Hosted by Creswick Bowling Club in magnificent weather conditions, today saw the Bendigo Dragons Under 18 Bowls Squad travel across to take on the Ballarat Gold Diggers for the perpetual shield challenge.

The Ballarat squad of 13 featured 6 Big V juniors; Jaxon Hunt, Billie Lennecke, Jack Lennecke, Charlotte Morris, Connor O’Halloran and Micah Oswin (Captain)

There were stand out performances by all of our crew. Connor O’Halloran had his first taste of skipping and thrived in the role, winning 2 from 3 / 16 shots (with a 1 shot loss in game 1) with Jaxon Hunt setting him up in the lead position. Jack Lennecke skipped his rink to the same record 2 wins from 3 / 7 shots (with a 1 shot loss in game 2). The rink of Charlotte Morris, Billie Lennecke and Micah Oswin combined to dominate with 3 from 3 wins + 23 shots

It was a comprehensive win for the Diggers. Ballarat 9.5 rink wins – Bendigo 2.5.
