Victoria Bowling Club 2024-25 Club Singles Champions – Helene Stenning and Jesse Thomas

This afternoon we held the final of the Victoria Bowling Club Ladies and Mens Club Championship Singles. In cool and windy conditions, our competitors put on a great exhibition of bowling for those spectators who attended.

In the Ladies competition, Donna Leeson and Helene Stenning competed for the title. Helene got off to a quick start, before Donna found her range and fought her way back into the match. The jack was constantly moving throughout and shot changing hands. But it was Helene who reached 25 first (25-17).

In the Men’s final, Murray Gannon and Jess Thomas had their sights set on the A. T. Trahar Perpetual trophy.

It was an epic match, that saw most ends decided by one shot and took 30 ends to reveal the winner.

Jess got off to a hot start and at one point held a 18-10 lead. Murray knuckled down and pegged back one shot at a time until he overtook Jess and pushed 2 shots ahead. The lead then see-sawed until Jess found the shot he needed to win 25-23.
