Silver for Billie Lennecke and Micah Oswin in the SSV Secondary Junior State Finals

On Tuesday, four Ballarat Highlands Gold Diggers (including our own Billie Lennecke and Micah Oswin) headed to Club Sunbury to represent Phoenix P-12 Community College in the SSV Secondary Junior State Finals.

8 schools battled it out in two sections with the top 2 from each progressing to the semi finals.

After a loss to Kyabram P-12 College in the first game, Phoenix composed themselves and fought out two strongs wins to earn a spot in the semi final.

It was a dominant performance in the semi final, setting up a rematch with Kyabram in the grand final.

After dropping a 5 on the second end, it was always going to be a difficult task getting back into the game, but Oscar, Billie and Micah continued to give themselves opportunities to cut into the lead. In the end, Jacob from Kyabram was able to come up with some crucial shots that allowed them to hang on for the win.

Congratulations to Jacob, James and Liam on winning their second title in a row.
